The colour of the year for 2021 has recently been revealed by colour company Dulux as ‘Brave Ground’, a bolstering light brown tone that connects back to nature, bringing the outside in. Described as a warm earthy tone that creates a sense of stability and growth, the natural colour is set to bring a neutral, balancing feeling to 2021.

Showcasing a combined fusion of earthy, neutral tones such as browns and calming blues, alongside the on-trend furniture pieces essential for homeowners in 2021, is The Beddington, Millwood Designer Homes’ striking new show home at Heartenoak Meadows in the picturesque village of Hawkhurst, Kent. Now open and available to view, the property has been designed and dressed by luxury interior designers Phoenix Interior Design, who have ensured the homeowners will start their new year ahead of the game, with interiors kitted out with this year’s top trends.

Susan White, Managing Director at Phoenix Interior Design, is a well-regarded interior designer to a number of celebrity and high-profile clients. Of her design in The Beddington, she comments: “In The Beddington, we wanted to create the feeling of a chilled relaxed lifestyle, with an emphasis on working from home and mental wellbeing. This meant that throughout the home, we incorporated calming blue tones with the colour of the year, natural light browns, as well as rustic orange tones to bring a pop of colour to each room. With everyone spending a lot more time inside the home this year, we combined everything a buyer would need in 2021; practical yet stylish space to work from home, as well as inviting, cosy environments providing the perfect place to unwind after a day of Zooming.”

“With working from home in mind, we designed a ‘grown-up’ study, with a mixture of dark blue and black tones alongside brown leather chairs and unique lifestyle accessories. We also made sure to incorporate the theme of remote working throughout the rest of the property, with two adaptable aged oak coffee tables to the family area with removable trays and burnt orange stools to the kitchen island, providing different spaces to work from home.”

“In contrast to this, we created a living room made for snuggling and entertaining with two enormous velvet sofas, a fireplace and calming artwork pieces. In the dining room we created a ‘snug’ where homeowners can perfectly separate their ‘work’ space from their relaxation time in the evenings in front of the large TV and, for the ultimate 2021 stress-reliever, we incorporated a wellness retreat room into the upstairs space for a sense of calm, with a massage table, yoga mats, and yoga balls.”

The Beddington is a luxurious five-bedroom detached property which delivers a beautiful, flowing open-plan layout complemented with stylish boutique interiors. The ground floor features a long hallway leading into a cloakroom and large traditional living room complete with a brick fireplace. To the rear of the property, a spacious kitchen/breakfast/family area provides the perfect hub of the home, complete with integrated appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, full height fridge/freezer and a wine cooler for added luxury. The ground floor also benefits from a separate dining room and a study, a must-have for 2021 homeowners.

Upstairs, the charming master bedroom benefits from two double fitted wardrobes, whilst both the master and second bedrooms enjoy an en suite bathroom with white suites and chrome fittings. Three further easily-adaptable bedrooms, one of which Phoenix has transformed into a wellness retreat room for the ultimate relaxation space, and a large family bathroom complete the upper floor. The property also enjoys a detached double garage with electronically operated doors, and a beautiful rear garden, complete with a patio area.

Philip Brown, Sales and Marketing Director at Millwood Designer Homes, comments: “Taking into consideration qualities of the home that buyers were looking for at the end of last year including functional space to work from home, and relaxing areas to switch off at the end of the working day, the designers at Phoenix have created the ultimate home for 2021 in The Beddington. Reflecting a superior standard of harmonious family living, the show home will present visitors with on-trend interiors that they can aspire to have in a Millwood home this year. We are delighted to be able to launch Heartenoak Meadows with such a beautiful show home for our visitors, showcasing everything that Millwood represents.”
