Before purchasing a yacht, it is advisable to charter first. Yachts come in all shapes and sizes and every yacht is different and unique so chartering a different yacht-type will help establish which best suits your needs.
When thinking of purchasing a yacht you need to establish what the yacht will be used for, will it be for family excursions, long distance cruising or as an investment placed on the charter market.
BUY OR BUILD?
Depending on your budget and time constraints there are several purchase options available to you. You can purchase a yacht already on the water or build a yacht from scratch.
Both have pros' and con's buying a yacht already on the water means you can take possession within a matter of weeks whereas a build project can take as long as three years depending upon the scale.
